The 9 Women in 90 minutes series  touches on the "so-called “taboo” topics affecting the African women in society such as masculinity, unconventional careers, high performing single mothers, just to name a few  

In episode 1 we chat to Rehema Isa on the importance of women supporting women and the role she plays.  

Rehema is a Serial Entrepreneur, a Business Strategist, a Storyteller and a Mother. She is the co-founder of Womanomics Africa™, a not for profit focused on advocacy, research and capacity building, to ensure that women receive ½ of $6tn estimated to be unlocked from doing business in Africa’s Continental Free Trade Area. As the co-founder of Oya Foods and a TEDx licensee, she’s passionate about amplifying the voices, and scaling up the businesses of African women globally.

Michael Njeru is a seasoned actor and producer in Kenya’s film industry. He is the Head of Community at Turnup.Travel and doubles up as production manager for TurnUp in Motion Crew with many years in the production realm.  

In the episode, he gives us insight on how the pandemic impacted the African travel industry. He talks about the importance of sustainable travel through community impact. Lastly, we touch on the power of lens through storytelling, digitally sharing and documenting our true pride and culture.

Steffi is a feminist leader who calls herself a Chief Feminism Officer (CFO). She is on a mission to advocate for women and girls’ equal rights and uses her voice on various platforms to challenge the roles and stereotypes that lead to inequalities and exclusion.

During the episode, we discuss the importance of gender equality and explore interventions that companies can implement, to ensure that all genders are equally represented in the workplace. She also talks about her volunteer work, as a mentor to young girls, with G4G and The Ubuntu Academy. Lastly, she touches on how you can also volunteer and assist in empowering young girls in your community.

In episode 3, we talk about the EdTech landscape in Africa with Matsi Modise, Founding CEO of Furaha Afrika Holdings.
