Wait, You Haven't Seen...?

This week, Josh Munro, aka Joosh, is back to talk about a movie Travis hasn't seen before. It's the debut feature film from Joel and Ethan Coen, Blood Simple. The plot revolves around a man putting a contract kill out on his wife, and her lover. But when he ends up shot, things quickly get out of control. A private investigator with questionable morals, a pearl handled revolver, and a guy who just won't seem to die. So does this hold up to the high standards of other Coen brothers films? Or is it a stumble out of the box for the first time filmmakers? Let's find out...

Jason Peters of Esoterica Cinema is back to talk about the 2018 Cyberpunk film, Upgrade. Starring Logan Marshall Green as Grey, a man who is left crippled after his wife is killed. He's then offered an experimental implant that allows him to walk again. When the chip inside him starts to talk to him, he sets out to find the men who killed his wife. Written and Directed by Leigh Whannell (of Saw and Insidious fame) is this a worthy Cyberpunk/Noir whodunit? Or just another low budget action flick? Let's find out...

This week, Gary Fisher (The Senior Geek) is joining the show to talk about seeing The Exorcist for the very first time. Often cited as "The Scariest Movie ever Made", it's about a young girl named Reagan who is possesed by a demon. Or is she? The doctors don't seem to think so, but her mother knows something is happening, and she looks to Father Karras for help. Starring Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Jason Miller, and Max Von Sydow. Is this movie as scary as it's reputation makes it out to be? Or is it just a long and somewhat boring movie from the 1970s? Let's fine out...

This week, we are staying firmly in the 1980s with one of the seminal kids adventure movies, The Goonies. Dennis Robinson of the Botched Podcast is back because he's never seen this movie. How is that possible? Didn't everyone between the age of 35 and 45 see this movie growing up? Well, not everyone apparently. So, how does it hold up? Is it still enjoyable, or should it stay in the 80s? We also talk about music and scores in movies, and how we look at entertainment over the different times in our lives.

Don't forget to check out Lycanbook.com for Dennis' kickstarter on his new graphic novel!

This week, Diddi returns to talk about the 2018 DC comics adaptation of Aquaman. Starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Patrcik Wilson. It tells the story of Arthur Curry as he becomes the hero known as Aquaman. DC films don't have the best track record. He sets out to help some of the kids at the school by teaching them a Afro-Brazilian martial art called Capoeira. Why didn't it launch the career of Mark Dacascos? Is this actually any good? Or should this one stay in the early 90s? Let's find out...

This week, Steve and Izzy from Everything I Learned from Movies are on the show to talk about the 1986 cult classic Cobra. Travis had never seen it before. Sylvester Stallone is Marion "Cobra" Cobretti, a LA cop who plays by his own rules. He's trying to stop the Night Slasher, and save a model in the process. Car chases, shootouts, one liners, and the most unhinged way of cutting a pizza you'll ever see are all in this one. But does it deserve the cult classic status? Is it 80s cheese in a good way? Let's find out...

It's time to explore the multiverse with Searanex. He has never seen 2022's Everything Everywhere All at Once, so we are fixing that. It won several Academy Awards, including acting for Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Universe hopping, elaborate fight sequences, a lot of "Wait, What?" moments, and the strangest version of "Chekov's Gun" you may ever see. So, is it worth all the hype? Let's find out...
