Waiting for the Train - Superficial Gallery

Hello! Welcome to our first re-tooled episode of Waiting for the Train, now with more current news and wonderment at the horrors of our world. We are working on getting our first still-to-be-named episode ready of our second show - we already have a super interesting topic, so be sure to stay tuned for that, but we need Acadia to be back from his various business trip nonsense before we can complete it (yeah, allegedly he has a "real job").  (If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out our previous podcast where we explained it all... and also spent a lot of time telling Acadia to f*** off, as usual.)

This week we learn a lot of fascinating facts about the Revolutionary War and events surrounding it, including France being our (America's) one true BFF, so stop pretending we don't like France, how Henry Wadsworth Longfellow lied to us, and Acadia tells us about a war crime against Portland, Maine.

Speaking of the Revolutionary War, the Battle of Bunker Hill is mentioned, so here you go:

Well, folks, this week's episode brings you the conclusion to the story of the Franklin Cover Up.  It is not nearly as graphic as Episode One but it is also no picnic.

We break down the outcomes for the people involved in the scandal and the final open question as to whether this was a monstrous scandal that was not properly exposed or a crazy hoax.  Maybe you guys can figure it out.  But we won't force you to do it alone!

Here is the rough cut documentary that was mentioned at the beginning of episode 1.  It is pretty enlightening.  Seems like someone would have made an updated one by now, no?  Does that mean there is nothing really to it, you think?

This episode is about a very heavy topic.  In the 80s there was a pretty big scandal involving some bad guys in Nebraska and some other very unfortunate people.  Unless it is a all a hoax.  Which it might be. But this first part of the story has some EXTREMELY vile details in it.  And we really think that you need to know about that fact ahead of time.  No joke.  I mean, there are still some jokes but you know what I mean!

But then we have the regular things like "what bothers B. Nev" and "Good week / Bad week" so you don't have to go to bed screaming and crying.

Tonight we are America AF. We learned that Germans were terrible at making toilets for their navy, the real life Top Gun program hates the movie Top Gun, that Acadia should read ahead when he is doing quizzes, if your Sergeant tells you to wash another guy's balls you should question him, and Acadia has a super distant relationship to a war hero. (It's very distant, he gets no credit.)

We have a special guest, Obi, who makes super cool art which you should check out here! If we're super nice to him he might make a donation for our auction to celebrate the gallery's anniversary in September.
