The featured discussion of LTAC funds availability for workforce housing made smoke come out of Richard's ears but even the former Council Member thought it was a "kubuki" dance to not address the option. We will see if it really shows up on the discussion at the "retreat."

Episode 294 | CITY COUNCIL REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2020

Wake Up Bainbridge performed a hat trick tonight. We will Live Streaming on FB, Live Blogging from home and were Live at the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington Regular Business Meeting of the City Council.

Tonight was the last public meeting for Matthew Tirman, Bainbridge Island City Council. He was acknowledged by his fellow council members and member of the public at the start of the meeting for his time and accomplishments while representing the South Ward over the last 2+ years.

Along with a proper send off by his peers, Proper Fish and Wake Up Bainbridge teamed up to give Matt a "Proper" send off with a complementary order of the best Fish-N-Chips in the USA.

The Council took up both old and new business including using up to 50% of LTAC funding for Workforce Affordable Housing where Sal DeRosalia gave public comment, as well as an update on Floor Area Ratio Bonus Density Options, the Roundabout at Wyatt Way and Madison, Sustainable Transportation and several appointments to multiple committees and task force type groups.

It's was a full docket and they even ended pretty close to on time. Were you there? Were you watching? Ron was. He gave public comment a few times too.

Episode 291 | The Bainbridge Island Review, Reviewed where Sal and Richard review the local paper's stories including the 17 applicants to fill the vacant Parks Board seat of newly elected City Council Member Michael Pollack, a DUI accident including entitlement, Franzia and bad behavior of a young islander and some pricey land on the market in Lynwood. Richard sings the praises of Kitsap Transit B.I. Ride or the "two dollar Uber" as he calls it. It works like a champ. We revel in the good weather and preview some great topics heading our way. Spring has sprung?

Sal and Richard had a great conversation with Leslie Daug, City of Bremerton Councilwoman and Candidate for 23rd Legislative District.

Along with being in her 4th term as a council member in Bremerton, Leslie Daugs is also one of two, three or maybe even four candidates running for the seat being vacated by current 23rd Legislative District representative, Sherry Appleton. The 23rd represents the East Bremerton, Central Kitsap, North Kitsap and Bainbridge Island.

In addition to her role in City government, Councilwoman Daugs is the School Security Guard for Bremerton School District, a foster parent to 54 kids/teens an avid soccer player.

We barely scratched the surface with Candidate Daugs before the interview was cut short. Not to worry, the good news is that she agreed to meet up for part two! This time we will do it in stomping grounds.
