Second in my series "Church & COVID", I sit down with Randy Joslin, Lead Pastor at Oasis Church (https://www.theoasisnm.org). Super nice guy with an optimistic outlook. With his lovely wife Debbie, they tag team Sunday morning services. I look forward to sitting down with Debbie for her own podcast in the near future. Randy & Debbie are engrained in our community and have been bringing God's love since the late 80s.

Next week I start my series on local musical talent when I sit down with 1/2 of Breezin', probably the longest performing band in the 4 Corners.

Shannon Farrell stops by Better Homes & Garden Real Estate/Golden Door in the newly under construction downtown Farmington, NM. Shannon discusses her responsibilities in assisting handicapped people live Independently.  She has several passions, her job being one, but the thing makes her eyes sparkle is talking about her singing career. I continue my series on dwindling local radio program with Dave Schaeffer. Dave has been a fixture in local radio in the Four Corners for over 3 decades. He is also a victim of the latest downsizing of local programming.  Dave's been silent due to his contract obligation, I caught shortly after it expired. He's got a great attitude and is ready for his next conquest. It's just another Thursday afternoon chat at Better Homes & Garden Real Estate/Golden Door in soon to be beautiful, under construction, downtown Farmington, New Mexico, USA! Matt is the lead pastor at Pinon Community Church in Farmington, NM. He's sits with me at Better Homes & Garden Real Estate/ Golden Door, in the under construction, revitalizing project of  our downtown. This is the first in my series "Churches & COVID" and Matt is who I chose to kick off the series for a number of reasons, first, I considered him my "lead" pastor. Its the church I attend most. He talks about getting into the ministry, his calling if you will. How he copes with not having people in the pews and struggling with even keeping the staff on payroll and the doors open. The shift to online broadcasting and how much he believes his is doing exactly what he is being called to do.  I love and respect his passion and I think you will as well.

Next I will continue my series on declining local radio programming with Dave Schaefer. He and I worked together years ago and he is the latest product of downsizing.

Roscoe Hooper a long time resident of the Four Corners. A 2019 recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award from the New Mexico Broadcasters association. Roscoe spills the beans about dwindling local radio stations and his life in the Four Corners. Roscoe has worked with such great names as Bob Wills, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard ...well almost every early country artist, I don't have the space to mention them all. He was a major player in bringing the first upstart "FM" station to the Four Corners.  I've known him for almost 50 years, we worked together on and off, but most I am privileged to call him a friend. enjoy this interview and let me hear from you;  [email protected]

A very delightful and uplifting conversation with the lovely Ginger Palmer. She is the Donor Development Director at San Juan Medical Foundation. Emmet talks about his life in general from being a worship leader to doing local radio play by play for Wally D Sports. He is a COVID-19 survivor. Emmet and his wife were planning his funeral arrangements via video chat from his hospital bed. He goes into detail about his experience with this deadly virus. He emotionally describes his gratitude to the entire staff of San Juan Regional Hospital. The only regret I have with this interview is I didn't ask Emmet about his fishing! He spends his spare time in the quality waters on the San Juan river.

I have been deemed unessential so I'm on quarantined at home with my thoughts and a dirty house. To take my mind off my dirty home I've been going through my old radio air checks. Hey its better than cleaning beside no one will be coming for a visit......I'm going to be home awhile, I'll get to it. I have interviewed some really great artists in my career and Brian Howe formerly of Bad Company was one of my favorites. We had done a couple of phone interviews while he was on his way to the Four Corners. This one was a Big Dog 96.9 live studio recording! In other words this is what went out over the airway. And yes, Brian, my girl friend and I went out and closed the bars down afterwards. We then sat in the bar at his motel till after 3am.

The interview is raw and totally uncut. You need to give it a listen before letting any kiddos listen to it.
