State Rep. David Tyson Smith (D-Columbia) represents Columbia in the Missouri House. He joined 939 the Eagle's Brian Hauswirth and Stephanie Bell live on "Wake Up Columbia" at the governor's prayer breakfast at Jefferson City's Capitol Plaza Hotel. Representative Smith is focused on voting rights during Missouri's 2022 session. Mizzou is located in his district, and Mizzou funding is a top priority. Smith is also pleased with the $220-million NextGen Precision Health building. A primary aim of the facility is to make health care more affordable. The facility is named for U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt (R), who predicts NextGen will cement Missouri's place as a leader in biomedical research:

Missouri House Speaker Pro Tem John Wiemann (R-O'Fallon) joined "Wake Up Columbia" live this morning, before the governor's prayer breakfast at Jefferson City's Capitol Plaza Hotel. Pro Tem Wiemann says the Legislature will have to address funding for Medicaid expansion, saying the state is currently using other funds to pay for it. He also predicts the House will approve congressional redistricting, and he's also critical of vaccine mandates. Pro Tem Wiemann represents St. Charles County in the Missouri House:
