Missourians will cast ballots in August on four proposed constitutional amendments, including Amendment five. It would phase out Missouri's state income tax. Governor Mike Kehoe joined hosts Randy Tobler and Stephanie Bell live this morning on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri" and touted Amendment Five. The governor tells listeners that Tennessee is the model for growth because they eliminated their state income tax. The governor wants Missouri to grow and says some residents are leaving blue states:

Missouri voters will cast ballots on four proposed constitutional amendments in August. One of them is Amendment Four, which changes the initiative process. Currently, a simple majority of Missouri voters is required to amend the state Constitution. Amendment Four would change that to require a majority of voters in all eight congressional districts. State Rep. Ed Lewis (R-Moberly), who supports Amendment Four, spoke on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri":

You'll be casting ballots in August in Missouri on Amendment One, an extension of Missouri’s parks, soils and water sales tax. Missouri voters approved a constitutional amendment in 1984 that created the tax, which is earmarked specifically for the state park system and efforts to stop soil erosion. Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) director Kurt Schaefer joined hosts Stephanie Bell and Jennifer Bukowsky live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri", saying the tax generates about $136-milllion annually. 50 percent of that goes to Missouri state parks and 50 percent of it go to the soil and water conservation program:
