Wake Up Sydney – Weather, Traffic and Trains recap (Mon 25 May 2026)
Start your day in the know with Sydney’s latest weather, road, and rail updates so you can plan smarter and get there on time.
Weather: CBD is 16.5°C now with a top of 22°C and showers—pack a brolly. Parramatta is mild with showery conditions much like the CBD. Bondi sits in the low 20s with showers drifting in off the water.
Traffic: Blacktown—truck breakdown on Sunnyholt Rd at Sackville St. Southbound, 1 of 3 lanes is closed. Expect delays and allow extra time through the area.
Trains (Blue Mountains/T1 Western Line maintenance, Mon–Fri): Buses are replacing trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria. Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central on a changed timetable, with Bathurst services also altered. On the T1 Western Line, City to St Marys services are on a changed timetable; change at Blacktown for rail replacement buses. For NSW TrainLink connections at Lithgow, call 132 232.
Earlier incidents: North Shore & Northern Line delays from Milsons Point have cleared, but expect residual delays up to 25 minutes and some stop changes—Sydney Metro between Epping–Chatswood–Central is a good alternative. Western Line incidents have cleared with residual delays up to 15 minutes.
Network-wide alert: Wet weather means slippery platforms—take extra care when boarding and alighting.
Sydney Metro: No incidents reported at this time.
