Wake Up! The Hour Has Come | Romans
Wake Up. Suit Up. Step Up.
Romans 13 is a call to urgency. Pastor Jamie and Pastor Tommy unpack Sundays Sermon. Paul doesn’t just teach doctrine, he moves us into practice, showing us what it means to live as a transformed people in the middle of the times we’re facing right now. In this message, we look closely at Paul’s charge to wake up, cast off darkness, and put on Christ.
The season we’re in is not accidental. Paul uses the word kairos, not just clock time, but a decisive, God-appointed moment. Scripture warns us that spiritual sleep, apathy, and complacency are dangerous. Just like David standing before Goliath, the enemy may be screaming loudly, but the hour has come for the people of God to rise and take their place.
Romans 13:11 reminds us: “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” This is not the time to drift or be distracted, it’s time to be alert, aware, and ready.
Paul tells us what to do next:
Wake Up, recognize the urgency of the hour and shake off spiritual lethargy.
Suit Up, cast off the works of darkness, strip away the habits that thrive in secrecy, and clothe yourself with the armor of light. Visibility matters; we are called to live openly and transparently as sons and daughters of the day.
- Step Up, transformation isn’t just about avoiding sin, but actively walking in a Spirit-empowered life. Paul urges us to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ” and live in a way that honors God, no longer making room for the flesh.
The night is almost over, the day is at hand, and we don’t have the luxury of sleep. God is calling His people to rise up, take their stand, and walk into the valley clothed in Christ.
The question is, will we stay on the hillside frozen in fear, or will we step into the moment God has given us.
It’s time to wake up, suit up, and step up. Not tomorrow. Now.
