Walk the Mile, Skip the Sprint
Try the Marathon once in a while
Skip the sprint, why strain yourself,
Let the breeze make you smile
You’ll never dazzle with that wretched pelf
If the world were ruled by Philosophers
Would it be a better place
And, if that would be so
Then, why is it not the case?
Is everyone not a Philosopher
At some point of time
And, in their lives, maybe daily too
Give in to feelings and feel the rhyme
For, that is all it really is
Philosophy, is full of thought,
The niceties of it, the subtleties
Where all things cannot be bought.
Alas! the material world this distinction erases
When all things are measured by lucre,
The dance of Money, the stance of it
‘Tis also the measure of the Future.
Philosophers, too, succumb to it
Then quit the “unreal” feelings,
Reality is a ‘KBC” show
Philosophy, without meanings
Else, why would it end with Socrates
Plato and a few “unquoted” others,
It’s all very nice and philosophical
To believe, we’re all sisters and brothers!
When we move from Feelings to Reality
That, is the end, for that day, of Philosophy.
Nice to be philosophical each day for a while
Who said you have to run a hundred meters
And, cannot walk a Mile.
