Mark 15:6-32

Pilate seeks to release Jesus because of his innocence, but the blood-thirsty onlookers demand his execution.

Siding with the crowd, Pilate delivers Jesus into the hands of soldiers who beat him, mock him, torture him, and crucify him between two thieves on a hill outside of Jerusalem.

Matthew 27:62-65

The Pharisees fear Jesus' resurrection or that his body will be taken and ask Pilate to secure the tomb.

Luke 24:13-35

Later Sunday afternoon, two travelers are on their way to a town a few miles from Jerusalem. They're joined by another man who later agrees to share a meal with them. While they discuss what happened to Jesus, the two travelers realize the one with them is the risen Jesus himself.

Matthew 28:1-10

It's Sunday morning. The one who was dead is now very much alive. Two women make the discovery and run to tell people the news.

Matthew 27:57-61

A wealthy man named Joseph asks to bury Jesus. Pilate agrees, and Jesus is placed in Joseph's own tomb and a large stone is rolled across the entrance.

Mark 15:33-34

It's 3:00 PM on Friday. Jesus' life is coming to an end. As he hangs on the cross, he utters his final words.

It's mid-afternoon on Friday. And Jesus has just died. While his lifeless body hangs on the cross, the Temple curtain splits, the earth shakes violently, and Jesus' closest followers and family look on from a distance.

Desperate to know what's happening to Jesus, Peter is recognized on multiple occasions as he's near where Jesus is being interrogated. Three times he denies being a follower of Jesus, causing an earlier prophecy by Jesus to come true.

Mark 15:1-5

Friday continues with Jesus being passed on from the Jewish Council to the Roman leader of Judea, Pontius Pilate. Pilate asks Jesus to defend himself against the accusations made against him. How he responds astounds Pilate.

Matthew 26:57-68

Jesus is led before the Jewish Council, where many false witnesses attempt to frame him. Under intense questioning, Jesus proclaims who he is, causing a complete uproar among the Council members, who begin to call for his death.
