Jesus said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

What are we to do in church? Pray, intercede, bring the nations before God, heal the sick, exalt the Lord and not use His name to trade or do business. God's promise to us,

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. 1 Corinthians 14:26

Be very careful, then, how you live —not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:15-20

Life offers us many models; people have walked on the same roads we find ourselves. Folks have faced similar situations. Their stories and lives are our witnesses, but Jesus is our ultimate role model. To live successful lives, we must stop to consider how He did it whilst He was here on earth. Our first stop is a look at His love, displayed by His passion. What characterized Christ’s love?

The Bible refers to it as the root of bitterness. It calls it poison; it spreads, festers and defiles. It is dangerous; it kills the one who lets it in. Don't let it have room in your life. So many have fallen victim to its deadly grip. Run from it, as your existence depends on your fleeing the vice.

Because we live in a world of sin, we face situations that evoke negative emotions. We must do all we can to refrain from yielding to its pull. Constantly reminding ourselves that if Jesus, our elder brother, went through life without bitterness, so can we.

Whilst the reason for bitter emotions may be genuine, nothing is worth the toll it takes on our well-being.

Bitterness brings out the fallen nature in us. It makes a beautiful person ugly. It defaces the owner.

1. Take heed to yourself. 'The first shall be the last" is still a potent force. Self-righteousness has never landed anyone a spot in the kingdom of God.

2. Obedience to the Father's command proves we love Him.

3. Repentance is a pivot to our walk with God.

4. It does not matter how you start; how you end is crucial.

5. You do not qualify for the kingdom because of your ranking in life and society.

6. Do not write off anyone.

7. God will not bend His rules because you are a child of the Covenant. What makes you a son is obedience to the father's will. It is how you prove your love and devotion.

Finding Your Identity in Christ, The "I AM"

Do not apologise for God's gifts in your life.

God's authority in a man's life is bestowed, not snatched.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Mathew 28:18

Understand that the grouse may have nothing to do with you but everything to do with how you made them feel.

Admit that the only person you have control over is yourself.

Refrain from being dragged into arguments that do not lead anywhere but the human ego.

There was no denying that Jesus embodied power and authority.

If you do your job well, dear child of God, the world around you will testify to God's manifest presence and power in your life.

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!

How great is the sum of them! Psalm 139:14-17

There is a kind of fast that God wants. It is not self-focused; it is beyond getting your needs met. It is about being the answer to other people’s plight. It is removing the focus from self and minding things of eternal value. It is not about getting God to do the will of man but positioning man to receive God’s will and grace to do same.

Do not exploit your workers. Cancel debts; yours was cancelled, remember? Feed the hungry. Defend the defenceless. Clothe the naked. Be available to your families. Do this and see a breakthrough on all sides. Amazing!

Fasting enables you to clean up yourself, not others. It helps you to take stock and focus on the major deals. When you do it right, you become a wonder! Can we safely say we have had it twisted all along? Should we not do the right thing and turn?
