Walken 101 episodes

  • #25 - Puss in Boots (1988)
Kenny and Brandon endure "Puss in Boots," a low-budget adaptation of an old fairy tale. Despite Christopher Walken obviously having a good time in the role, it was tough to sit through. After reading an enraging, positive review of the film on Amazon, Brandon reads quotes from various interviews in which Walken expresses his love for cats, even going so far as wishing to reincarnate as a cat. The podcast derails as Kenny and Brandon somehow start discussing the dimensions of Willem Dafoe's penis.

  • #24 - Biloxi Blues (1988)
Kenny and Brandon catch up after a stressful week off, then discuss Christopher Walken's entertaining performance as a World War II drill sergeant in the 1988 drama "Biloxi Blues," based on the stage play by Neil Simon. Brandon then admits that he has run out of "Second-Hand Walken" stories, and instead reads an anecdote from Walken himself about how decided to stop seeing a psychiatrist after only one session.

  • #23 - The Milagro Beanfield War (1988)
Kenny and Brandon discuss the vanilla, lighthearted 1988 film "The Milagro Beanfield War," and Christopher Walken's fleeting performance as a cookie-cutter antagonist. They spend most of their time talking about how awful the movie was, and for the "Second-Hand Walken" segment, Brandon reads a brief factoid about Walken's family and upbringing that an actor learned about when working with him on "Batman Returns."

  • #22 - Witness in the War Zone (1987)
Kenny and Brandon discuss Walken's performance in the action/political thriller "Witness in the War Zone," a low-budget film with a confusing plot about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For the "Second-Hand Walken" segment, Brandon reads a Reddit post from someone whose dad had a run-in with Walken at a bar circa the late-90s.

  • #21 - At Close Range (1986)
Kenny and Brandon, both in different stages of head colds and sucking on cough drops, discuss Walken's phenomenal performance as an unlikable, white-trash thief in the indie crime drama "At Close Range." For the "Second Hand Walken" segment, Brandon plays a clip from comedian Jay Mohr's stand-up describing a conversation he had with Walken regarding humans having tails.

  • #20 - A View to a Kill (1985)
Brandon and Kenny catch up after a week off and discuss Christopher Walken's performance as a psychotic villain in the 1985 James Bond film "A View to a Kill." For the "Second-Hand Walken" segment, Brandon reads a story submitted on Reddit about Walken allegedly stealing a garden gnome at a wrap party.

  • #19 - The Dead Zone (1983)
After recapping Brandon's graphic experience with a stomach bug and Kenny's documentary work in China, our hosts discuss Christopher Walken's excellent, haunting performance in the 1983 Cronenberg film "The Dead Zone." In the "Second Hand Walken" segment, they play a clip of David Spade on Jimmy Kimmel Live recounting an odd conversation he had with Walken on the set of "Joe Dirt" regarding animals that can, or cannot, act.

  • #18 - Brainstorm (1983)
Kenny and Brandon take the podcast to Brandon's basement as they watch the not-so-bad sci-fi film Brainstorm, in which Christopher Walken plays a scientist who's invented a unique device that allows you to experience someone else's mental and physical sensations. The film also starred the late Natalie Wood, who died during filming under mysterious circumstances while on a boat with Walken and Robert Wagner in 1981. As Kenny attempts to get the bottom of the much-disputed case, Brandon experiences a sudden wave of nausea which, unbeknownst to him, would eventually turn into the dreaded Norovirus, and leaves Kenny to finish out the podcast as he uses the bathroom.

  • #17 - Who Am I This Time? (1982)
Kenny and Brandon genuinely enjoy themselves watching Christopher Walken's fun, bombastic performance in "Who Am I This Time," an episode of the PBS anthology series "American Playhouse." In the "Second-Hand Walken" segment, Brandon reads a 2013 story about two New Yorkers who once gave Christopher Walken a ride when he was having trouble hailing a cab.

  • #16 - Pennies From Heaven (1981)
Kenny and Brandon catch up after a short break. Kenny's job as a short documentary filmmaker sent him to Texas for a day, and Brandon had an audition in New York. They then discuss Christopher Walken's phenomenal performance and dance routine in the otherwise uncomfortable 1981 musical "Pennies From Heaven."
