In this passage, Paul invites us to follow God’s example as His beloved children, living lives filled with love, holiness, and purposeful obedience. He calls us to turn from the ways of darkness - sin, greed, and impurity - and instead walk as children of light, showing goodness, righteousness, and truth in every part of our lives. Paul reminds us that what we do in private is just as important as what we do in public; unconfessed sin can quietly take root and steal our joy, but the light of Christ exposes and transforms it. We are then called to shine God’s light into a darkened world, so that all may taste of His glorious inheritance.
