Fasting is one of the most influential spiritual disciplines we can practice. Prayer, combined with fasting, shuts out the things of the flesh, even its basic needs, to open more fully to the things of the Spirit through communion with God. As you make fasting a part of your life, you'll start seeing a huge impact.

God is eager for us to use our words to bring encouragement and strength to life. Today use your words to praise Him, to give Him glory and honor by preaching the gospel and sharing the love of Christ. Before opening your mouth, remember that God is paying attention to what you say.

When you proclaim God's promises over each situation in your life, you prove that you are standing on what He said, and it honors Him. Not only is He pleased but speaking God’s Words increases your faith.

Speaking of the Body of Christ, Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “…that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word” (Ephesians 5:26). God's Word speaks to our hearts and manifests good things inside of us as we read it. It is alive and active; the voice and direction of the Father.

Jesus promised us rest. Only in Christ can our burdens be lifted; only in Him can we find help and strength in the greatest times of need.

God's Word contains the keys to revival. We must open our hearts and our lives in such a way that God is able to pour out revival at this time. It's time to keep the fire burning.

Your passion and fire for God should be so hot that people around you, people who speak with you, people who interact with you, and people who do business with you should all catch that fire.

Complete freedom comes from total surrender. When the pressures of life get tough, it can be easier to slide back into old ways of coping and comforting. Galatians 5:1 says, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Being led by the Spirit may take us through uncomfortable places where God needs us to be to prepare us. God will increase your effectiveness sometimes by leading you through the wilderness.

God has given each of us experiences and talents to enrich our lives and fulfill a need in the body of Christ and for those we encounter. Ask the Lord to show you how your blessings can become someone else’s answer to prayer. Lift those around you, encourage them when they trip, and help them toward their victory.
