Why do you go to church? Is it to be entertained? Do you want to be impressed with the teaching and the music? Pastor Johnny will urge you to seek an encounter with Jesus when you come to church. That’s not dependent on how great the worship team or pastor is. That’s dependent on you opening your heart for God to move.

It’s easy to sit back and have a pastor tell you what to think. It doesn’t require a lot of effort. Studying the Bible for yourself takes time and work. Today, Pastor Johnny will tell you something you don’t often hear from pastors. Don’t blindly trust everything he says. Make sure you test teachers against God’s Word.

God does indeed speak to believers through dreams and visions, but sometimes it can be hard to decipher between God speaking, your desires, and a dream caused by a bad pepper. Today, Pastor Johnny will urge you to test any dream or vision you have against God’s Word. God won’t call you to do something unbiblical.

In recent years, there have been several deaths at the Grand Canyon as people get right to the edge trying to get a great picture. Sin is like a dangerous cliff. Pastor Johnny will warn you today not to play with standing on the edge. Sin leads to death. Don’t see how close you can get to it. It’s not worth it. Keep your distance.

If we trip over a branch on the path, the pain in our knee reminds us to watch our step the next time. If we see someone else trip, it’s even smarter not to make the same mistake. Today, Pastor Johnny will urge you to learn from the past. The Bible has plenty of people messing up; They’re there so you don’t make the same mistakes.

Do you exercise? Do you take a pilates class, lift weights, or run? It’s good to keep in shape physically. In his message today, Pastor Johnny will ask if you’re staying in shape spiritually. Are you reading and studying God’s Word and spending time in prayer? It’s even more important to build up your spiritual muscles.

We are chosen and called by God! Isn’t that incredible? God wants to use us, undeserving sinners. Let that sink in. Pastor Johnny will declare to you that truth today. God chose you and called you to be a part of what He’s doing in the world. He’s called you to come alongside Him and be a part of His mission. 

Have you ever argued with someone about something meaningless, like which ketchup is better? Some battles aren’t worth fighting. Today, Pastor Johnny will remind you that God’s truth is something you should stand up for. It’s a battle worth fighting. You don’t have to argue combatively, but stand firm all the same.

You might be serving God for years before you see any fruit from your labor. It takes time for God to do work in people’s lives, and just because you don’t see it personally doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Today, Pastor Johnny will encourage you to keep serving the Lord even if you are feeling discouraged, He is faithful. 

Typically, you are spending your money to get something in return. You spend money on food, gas, housing, but do you have a portion budgeted for your tithe? Today, Pastor Johnny will encourage you to test God in the area of finance. If you don’t believe that God will multiply your money, try Him and see what happens.
