While David would have his fair share of failure in his life, at heart, he wanted to honor God. We find this character strength as we witness the game of cat and mouse between him and King Saul. Saul acts based on his feelings – he feels his power slipping away and he knows he’s fallen out of step with God, but instead of repenting, he continuously reacts in anger.
