Walking the Shadowlands

The Aos Sí, have you ever heard of that term? Perhaps you may have heard of them by any of the other names they sometimes are called. The Irish and Scottish people often use these terms; \"The Good Neighbours\", \"The Fair Folk\", or simply \"The Folk\" – or you may have heard of them called ‘The Fae’, ‘The Fairy Folk’, or simply ‘Fairies’.

People already aware of the Fae, at least having heard of them, may consider them merely a myth or a legend, or buy into the Disney version of fairies as little people who have wings and fly around like ‘Tinkerbell’ from the Hook movie, played very ably by the actress Julia Roberts. At least, that is the way that most media would have us see the fae. But is that an accurate portrayal of these elusive beings? What do you think? Do you even believe they exist? Do they exist? And if they do, why don’t more people see them?

Today we’re going to be looking at cryptozoological creatures and monsters, things that go bump in the night and haunt your dreams. These are creatures of our nightmares and sometimes our waking hours. But, are these creatures of the night that terrorize us as kids, and perhaps as adults, merely the results of nightmares and overactive imaginations? Or, the results of parent’s using cautionary tales to keep their kids safe? Or is there a reality behind them?

Certainly, most cultures world-wide have their store of legends and myths that persist in many places in the world, up to this very day. Legends, or are they really cryptozoological beings like the Bigfoot, Yowie, or New Zealand’s own Moehau Man? Are these genuine beings or merely cultural legends passed down from generation to generation?

We are going explore this part of the shadowlands, but, south of the border, down Mexico way – as the lyrics of a very old song tell us.

“Space the final frontier” words spoken by the narrator of that very old and well-loved (by many people), TV series Star Trek. A show that spawned countless spin-off shows and movies. Words that have inspired generations of souls to want to study and explore the vast regions of our known solar system and universe. That perhaps have inspired countless others to question our reality as we currently know it, and most certainly have brought man’s age-old question of are we alone in this universe? to the forefront of the past few generations who grew up watching these shows. But, are we alone in the known universe? Join my guest Professor Arvi Loeb, as he and I discuss the probability of life in space and Oumuamua.

In this episode I’m going to discuss a number of supposedly haunted or allegedly cursed items, are they the same thing even? Some of you may have heard of these items. Some may be new to you. Have you ever encountered such an item in your life?

Have you ever wondered what it’s like for those who make a living  purchasing and on selling antiques? Items that somebody once loved and  treasured in their lives? Have you ever wondered what story came with  that item? Why it was so loved? Everything we purchase and collect in  our lives, tells a story about us, about our loves, likes, or dislikes.  It informs others about what is and isn’t important to us, in terms of  our physical realities. And because, of the love we have for some of  these physical, tangible items, how much of our personal energy remains  with that item, when it is no longer in our possession? Can non-living  items have spiritual attachments?
