On this episode we introduce a new season topic about Walking on Mission with God. Being Mission minded is actually much more about how we live every single day. It’s a posture of saying, “God, I want my life to be aligned with You. I want to notice where You’re working and be willing to join You right where I am.”

Walking on mission isn’t about striving or trying to prove anything to God. It’s about walking with Him, not just doing things for Him. When we’re close to God when we’re listening, praying, and staying aware of His presence—mission flows naturally out of that relationship. It becomes less about a checklist and more about obedience and trust.

We pray this season encourages you to see your daily interactions with others as a mission field. Keep inviting Jesus into every area of your life and let the light of Christ shine bright everywhere you go. 

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

Pointing people to Christ doesn’t always start with words. It starts with how you love, forgive, show patience, and walk with integrity. When Christ is shaping your heart, people notice and God gets the glory.

Today we’re especially excited because we’re joined by Tara Banks, author of the book” Finding Everyday Fruit”. Tara has such a beautiful, practical way of reminding us that spiritual fruit isn’t meant to be rare or complicated, it’s meant to be cultivated daily and shared in community. Through rich storytelling, scriptural insights, and Hawaiian imagery, Tara brings the nine fruits of the Spirit to life.

In her book, Tara invites you to discover how the fruit of the Spirit can flourish in your life, showing how the simplest moments can draw you closer to Jesus.

Tara is a worship pastor, speaker, and author of Waiting On Wonders. She is married to her college sweetheart, and they have two sons and a daughter-in-love. When she’s not tinkering with her ‘73 CJ-5 Jeep or dreaming of Hawaii, you’ll likely find her waiting on wonders and discovering the beauty of the fruit of the Spirit in everyday moments.

Finding Everyday Fruit: Discover and Develop a Life Formed by the Fruit of the Spirit

Today on the podcast, we’re continuing to talk about what it looks like to walk in Fruitful Fellowship because we are led by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5 reminds us that as we walk with Jesus, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control in our lives.

And today we get to sit at the table with Kelley's husband, Erik, to talk about what developing the fruit of Peace has looked like in their lives. Kelley and Erik have walked through a lot together, and through every joy and every struggle, God has been faithful, continuing to lead their steps as they try to keep their eyes on Jesus. That is the challenge for each of us, KEEP OUR EYES on JESUS - the author and perfector of our faith.

Today we are honored to have our friend McKenna Boone with us at the table. McKenna is passionate about walking with Jesus, discipleship, and connecting with other believers.

Scripture reminds us that “two are better than one” (Ecclesiastes 4:9), and we believe many are longing for deeper, healthier, more God-honoring relationships in 2026. This season, we’re challenging ourselves—and you—to be intentional about fruitful fellowship: to examine the communities you are apart of, to pursue Godly relationships, and to allow the Holy Spirit freedom to shape how you love, forgive, and walk together in community - developing the fruits of the Spirit in your lives(Galatians 5:22–23). Jesus tells us that when we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit (John 15:5), so our challenge this year is simple but bold: stay rooted in Christ and choose community that cultivates lasting spiritual fruit.

Our prayer for this season is that the fruit of the Holy Spirit would be evident in our lives, in our play, and in our homes, overflowing naturally as a result of Christ living in us. This isn’t something we manufacture or strive to perform, but it begins to flow from walking closely with Him.

This season has been full of growth, laughter, stretching moments, and sweet reminders of God’s faithfulness, not just in our personal lives but in our families, our goals, and in our walk with Christ.

As we reflect on our favorite memories, the things we accomplished, and even the places where we struggled, our hope is that this conversation encourages you to pause and look back at your own year with gratitude. God has been present in every high and every low, and today we want to celebrate that.

Today we get to sit back down with a dear friend whose life is such a beautiful picture of Advent love—love that goes, love that serves, and love that shows up in the everyday places where God calls us. She is a single woman who followed the Lord’s leading all the way to Tanzania, where she now runs a primary school and pours the love of Christ into children who are growing, learning, and discovering their worth in Him. We’ve watched her walk this calling out with courage and tenderness, and we cannot wait for you to hear how God is using her story to reflect His heart in this season of Love.

We are honored to have Lisa McKenzie back with us, to share how God is using and teaching her not only to receive HIS LOVE for her, but likewise pour out HIS great love on her students and families in Tanzania.

As we enter the third week of Advent, we turn our attention to JOY, but not the surface-level joy we often associate with the Christmas season. Advent reminds us that real joy is often born in places of longing, waiting, and even hardship. The joy of Scripture is not loud or flashy; it’s steady, surprising, and rooted in the presence of God. The prophet Isaiah spoke of a coming joy when he wrote, “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom” (Isaiah 35:1). Joy shows up in barren places. And when the angel declared, “I bring you good news of great joy” (Luke 2:10), it wasn’t to people who had comfortable lives, it was to shepherds on the night shift, living under Roman rule, carrying their own burdens. Advent joy is the kind of joy that doesn’t ignore reality but shines right in the middle of it, a joy that comes from knowing that God sees us, God is with us, and God is still at work. This week, we’re leaning into that kind of joy - the kind that grows in the waiting and strengthens our hearts as we journey toward the manger, and await HIS glorious return. You can experience JOY on the JOURNEY.
