Thor is a frog now! Spidey and his team fight Loki and Frost Giants in Asgard with magical weapons based on their character traits! You’d think that would lead to a pretty wild episode, but somehow this less-exciting rehash of the first Thor movie is bizarrely forgettable. Frog Thor is cute, though!

Peter Parker should really take a sick day instead of fighting Venom, but here we are. This episode features a fascinating twist on the Venom formula with Harry Osborn trying to master the symbiote to impress his dad… but unfortunately, it has to devote a lot of time to snot jokes from Peter’s flu, prompting a continued conversation about the push-pull of what Marvel executives want this show to be versus what the creators seem to be trying to do.

Ultimate Spider-Man goes full Looney Tunes with a Taskmaster that manages to be formidable and dangerous, a cartoony Wile E. Coyote villain, and full-camp gay. Throw in a good use of White Tiger, a genuinely clever and well-written plot that addresses the consequences of this show’s entire premise, and non-stop zaniness, and you get our favorite episode yet.
