Walmart's 59th Birthday was cause for quite a celebration! Bo and the team put on a special live show in front of the Walmart Museum in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. In Milestone Minute, Elmer from Store 75 in Pineville, Louisiana, celebrated an amazing 35 years with the company. Theresa from Store 1315 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, celebrated 30 fantastic years with the company, as did Rita from Store 1277 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Bo and the crew tried to stump Walmart Museum head Alan with a special edition of Yes or No Way Bo, but Alan waved his flag all the way to victory. And don’t forget Bo’s Impossible Question of the Day, which asked, "The largest one of these weighed over 3000 lbs. What is it?" The answer is so sweet, it's downright shocking. Blow out the candles and light up the sky for Walmart's 59th birthday, ahead of Fourth of July weekend! Melissa from Store 1150 in College Station, Texas, was the Associate Caller of the Day. Jenny Dalquist’s grandfather came back to the United States from WWII with a background in metal working and chemistry, and her grandmother couldn’t find a lot of the products she used to cook her favorite Scandinavian dishes. Together they opened a family business in the Minneapolis area back in 1946 called Nordic Ware. After responding to Mr. Sam’s call for American manufacturers, Nordic Ware’s signature Bundt pan landed on our store shelves in 1986. Decades later they are now one of our longtime suppliers selling dozens of items, and John Furner recently toured their factory in person. We made a commitment earlier this year to spend an additional $350 billion on items made, grown or assembled in the U.S., and as we kick off our 8th annual Open Call this week, companies like Nordic Ware are what it’s all about. We welcome entrepreneurs from all over the country to virtually present their products to our merchandise buyers for a chance to get started with Walmart, just like Jenny’s family.
