Ald. Carrie Austin, who has served the far Southside 34th Ward since the 1990s, has been charged with accepting a bribe from a developer. But, at age 73 and in failing health, Austin says she is too ill to stand trial, and Walter agrees with her. Walter Jacobson gives his perspective.
