lock是「上鎖」的意思，相反詞是 unlock(開鎖)，想unlock，就需要key。讓鑰匙可以跟著我們到處走的，便是keychain(鑰匙鍊)和key holder(鑰匙圈)。用到lock的 慣用語相當多，舉例如下:
Lock up in 10 minutes.
(十分鐘後把門鎖好。)
This town will be locked up in snow and ice all winter.
(整個冬天，這個鎮都會被封閉在冰雪之中。)
 
remember的意思是「記住」、「想起」、「向~致意」，是 由表示「再~」的字首re-，和表示「放在心裡」的拉丁文 memer組合而成。了解單字的字源，對字彙能力的增加大有幫助。只要在已經學過的動詞前面加上re-，就能造出意思為「再~」的新動詞。
write → rewrite (重寫)
tell → retell(重新敘述)
new → renew(續約)
sell → resell(轉手販賣)
