In this episode, I come to you raw from a point of brokenness and if that's your season too, worry not as we are getting out of it and becoming better for it.
Sometimes we look at ourselves as just flesh and blood but we are more; much more. In this episode, I share a perspective on what makes a whole person and it is my hope that we will strive to be whole at all times.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. ”- Steve Jobs
"With ever so gentle steps, walk side by side with all the travellers on this thorny path of life. They will differ from you in colour, creed - there are many paths to God - culture and politics, but above all remember that your fellow travellers have the same needs as you. Our common humanity is far more important than any religious or political ideologies. Treat every man and woman justly and gently as you would have them treat you. Remember, Luke, you have no country. The world is your country. You have not only two brothers and two sisters but millions of brothers and sisters" - Mairead Maguire, a mother's letter to her son.
Could you be holding on to a bad night of fishing?
"For what it's worth, it's never too late or too early to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you are proud of. If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
"When the power of love will exceed the love for power, the world will know peace" - from the 5AM Club
"You are the hero of your own story"- Joseph Campbell
"There is no point in thinking about changing the world or worrying about the problems in the world. It is about doing something. We need to do something in order to make a difference to the world. Every single thing we do does actually matter." - Jody Williams, a Nobel Peace Laureates
I recorded this message randomly as I was reflecting on my life and after taking too long to start this podcast, listening to this message felt like a sign to just start. Yes, I am starting this podcast which I am calling "Wanjiru Kaburu's Vibes" by telling you that you are amazing. Look deep down and embrace both the flower and the thorns as you are a rose. Do not focus on the thorns however and forget the beauty of the flower.
