The world we live in today is a dangerous place. With the threat of nuclear attacks, failure of the power grid, threat of economic collapse due to unprecedented high national debt, and increasing social unrest, many people who fear societal collapse are making steps to prepare themselves for come what may. I had the opportunity this weekend to be a guest speaker for the National Rifle Association's (NRA) Carry Guard Expo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I spoke on this subject as well as another subject on firearms selection for home defense. The NRA training expo was a great success as noteworthy speakers such as Dave Grossman, Steve Tarani, Royce Gracie, John Correia of Active Self Protection ASP, and many others.

During World War 2, the Allied forces were beaten by the advancing German Army and trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, France. In an incredible rescue endeavor, naval ships and a great number of private, civilian vessels evacuated 330,000 Allied forces to safety despite the constant bombardment from German planes, ships, and land forces. The 2017 movie Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan, and starring Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, and Mark Rylance, is a must-see historical fiction based on the facts of the real evacuation of Dunkirk.

This video walks through the criteria I use in selecting an everyday (EDC) carry flashlight. When I approach illumination tools, I am always most interested in what could help me when a fight in a low light environment. Too many of us live in fear of the critics that surround us. This fear of what others think and say can keep us from living the life we want to. We can become slaves to the world around us which is pressuring us to keep in step with pop culture instead of living in accordance with our core beliefs and life priorities. Does Your Gun Need a Trigger Job? Shooters are always looking to improve their speed and accuracy, and there are a couple main ways to attain these improvements: (1) get good training and practice, and/or (2) seek modifications and upgrades. Lighter and shorter triggers are usually easier and faster to shoot, but there are some big downsides with changing out triggers.

I recorded this video months ago but am releasing it now (before I planned to) in light of Hurricane Harvey which has devastated the Houston area and surrounding areas as well. As we all should do our part to HELP THOSE IN NEED IN HOUSTON, TEXAS (as I am planning my part as well), we should also be reminded to prepare for emergencies whether it be a tropical storm like Hurricane Harvey or Katrina, or whether it be some other disaster. If you would like to help, organizations such as Samaritan's Purse or the Red Cross are providing assistance and accepting donations.

Purifying water is critical in the event of a disaster, camping, visiting foreign countries, or simply for general survival preparation. There are plenty of options from Iodine tablets, bleach, boiling, sawyer filters, berkley filters, lifestraws, etc. Don't be caught unprepared.
