Podcast, Podcast, Podcasts und immer mehr Podcasts. Man würde bei den aktuellen Entwicklungen nicht glauben, dass es schon vor zwölf Jahren das erste Buch über Podcasts gab (von Daniel Fiene & Dennis Horn). Wir beleuchten warum es einerseits schön ist, dass Firmen wie Luminary nun auch andere Formate ausprobieren aber warum auch die derzeitig ausgegebenen Beträge und Investitionen in diesem Bereich ziemlich absurd sind. Das gilt sowohl für Luminary als auch für die Akquisition von Gimlet Media/Anchor.fm durch Spotify.
In Folge 1 reden wir gleich über die großen Namen: Netflix, Conde Nast & Youtube. Bei Netflix wollten wir darauf eingehen, dass es trotz seines immensen Erfolgs und sehr hohen Markenbeliebtheit ein Unternehmen in großen Problemen ist. Der Grund dafür: Schulden. Sowohl die Inhalte als auch der Wachstum von Netflix werden durch massive Überschuldung des Unternehmens bezahlt.
Über die Ankündigung von Conde Nast zu der Einführung einer Paywall auf allen ihren Marken diskutieren wir den Allgemeinen Zustand von Paywalls und wir gehen im Detail auf die aktuell von Youtube herbeigerufenen gesellschaftlichen Probleme.
