Goodbye 2023, Hello 2024! We pod about our favorites, give a smooth recap of 2023 and what we're looking into 2024. Revisit some old debates and try to close the doo on a few. Looks like some might slide into 2024 but we made sure to mention the #WIGTP achievements from this year and where we plan to go into 2024.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from your favorites at the WIGTP. We wanted to bring something special since it is in fact the holiday season, so why not another In-Person review to close out 2023. We're also blessed to have one of our MVP guest join us to review This Christmas for Episode 81, Crystal. This was a "First Time" watch for Jason, but the ladies are repeat offenders when it comes to this film. We chat about the similarities this film has with Soul Food, the importance of Joe's character, the battle between This Christmas Vs Almost Christmas, and if sneaking into your parents house is needed when you're grown. As you're cleaning up that wrapping paper, tab into this review, and ask the question, Was It Good Though?
Happy Holidays from your folks at the WIGTP, we're taking it back with this episode. Many would call this a holiday classic, for episode 80 we're discussing Jingle All The Way. First the first time, we brought back a guest that was on the banned list, but he might be back on it after this episode. Shoutout to Ness for coming back to chat with the crew. We discussed what childhood toy Santa didn't bring us, our favorite toy growing up, and there was a large amount of Gargoyle hate. We also discussed how would this movie look if it were made in 2023, with the lack of Toy Stores that are in business today. A few ideas were dropped but we made sure to answer Was It Good Though?
Episode 78 we're coming with the energy for this first time Thanksgiving slasher. We had to bring Chris in for this review and it's safe to say, everyone got in their slasher bag. We dropped our favorite slasher of 2023 and also the need of more holiday slasher films. There was a violent debate between The Walking Dead Vs Game Of Thrones that will trigger a few polls but in the end we were able to answer, Was It Good Though?
For Episode 77, we're concluding our, "What We're Thankful For" month with The Harder They Fall. We brought in two past guest that we're thankful for, Crystal, 6 time guest MVP and JR, our brother across the pond. We had to bring the same energy as the Nat Love gang in this review. We discuss some of our favorite heist movies, if Rufus was an actual villain, and Jason finally admitted he'd be interested in a black pirate movie. Between the shoot outs, robberies, and amazing soundtrack, we get to the important question, Was It Good though?
Jason and Jazz are still feeding off of the all this "Marvelous Content" but in song. That's right, we're back for Episode 75 to discuss The Marvels. It's been a lot of online chatter about this film, along with mixed reviews. Our crew dives right into this movie and we are honored to have a "Podcast Day Oner" join us for the discussion. We discussion our favorite moments from the film, possible misses, and even ended a year plus old debate. This episode gets pretty spicy but we're able to come together for our "Glorious Purpose" and that's to to ask, "Was It Good Though?"
