Nations 4 Jesus

Washington, War, and Providence

Listen Later

Episode Description: George Washington survived four bullets through his coat in 1755, led nine thousand men to safety through a miraculous fog at Long Island, and crossed an ice-choked Delaware River on Christmas night to turn the tide of the Revolution. On more than 250 documented occasions, he publicly credited God's Providence for what he witnessed. Then, when the war was won, he walked away from power and prayed for the nation he had helped build. This is the Washington history books rarely show you.

Scripture: Psalm 20:7; Deuteronomy 31:6; Proverbs 21:1
