Latonya Binky Toran is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother from Nashville, Tennessee. She is a prolific poetess and spoken word artist. She has performed her original works from the Deep-south, Mid-south to the South-eastern parts of the United States. She is a member of an award winning all female poetry group, Relative. Binky has expanded her love for storytelling into her first novel, A Piece Untitled.

About A PIECE UNTITLED:

Lani is a young bi-racial girl. She was raised in the southern grit of sudsidized housing, in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. She was raised by Cash, an African-American reformed alcoholic, after she was abandoned at birth by her caucasian mother. Lani is devasted when she is faced with the sudden death of her only beloved parent. She is forced to make a choice to become a bride, rather than spend the rest of her teen years in a foster home. Lani discovers that poetry can be a refuge, when confronted with life's most challenging times. She struggles to find her voice in the mist of a controling husband, four children and a very overbearing mother-in-law. Lani learns about life, love and redemption in, "A Piece Untitled"

They are so anointed and full of God's love that the Bride just enters into the Holy of Holies very easily with their intercession in worship. There is a difference of just singing and taking the Bride to the throne-room. This group not only takes you to the throne-room, but allows the participants to leave feeling full of God's glory and ready to face the demonic forces that are waiting on them when they leave the building. It's groups like these that the Bride longs for.

Intimacy with our groom requires a dance with Him in worship. Whether that dance is literal or in the heart while worshiping...is all yet to be seen.  However, this group will not let you down if you are hungry!

Sons of Thunder is not only a worship band but a ministry that seeks to make the glory of God known to the world with music, prayer, and ministry. They minister in familiar, anointed worship songs, original music, and spontaneous musical jams to reveal the majesty of the Lord. Sons of Thunder have a multi-piece band that is guitar driven with flavors of classic rock and modern worship. Their music has been influenced over the years by Misty Edwards from IHOP-KC and the prayer movement, Lendell Cooley from the Brownsville Revival, and Morning Star Ministries.

The major components of her service include: preaching at diverse Churches and events, teaching specialized Bible studies for persons with special needs, prayer and counseling, and foreign missionary work to Haiti three times and to Belize once. She was educated by The Holy Spirit, life, and the following institutions of higher learning: University of Tennessee at Nashville, Tennessee State University, Emmanuel Bible College, Sacred Heart Theological, and United Theological.

Dr. Hunter’s freelance articles and photographs have been published in the Tennessean and the Nashville Pride. She self-published and sold a poetry chapbook, Reflections of Our Lives.  Her poem, Rain for Haiti, published in Tracing the Infinite, by The International Library of Poetry, received the Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry. Alicelene has been honored locally by the Office of Mayor Bill Purcell for “… artistic contributions to the community through poetry.” Also awarded with the group, Relativ, for “…service to the artistic community of Nashville as a supporter of literature and poetry.”
