Watch Out For A.N.T.s and Retrain Your Brain

We all have negative thoughts.  Negative thoughts come because our brains are always scanning for dangerous threats and discomfort.  It wants to protect us and keep us safe.  But people who deal with anxiety or depression tend to have an overabundance of negative thoughts when it comes to themselves, the world, and the future. Thoughts like, “I never do anything right”, “I am always going to fail” “Nothing ever works out for me”, “I am so stupid!”  These thought distortions seem true, and over time, they can become Automatic Negative Thoughts, or ANTs for short.  

These ANTS become habit forming thoughts which can actually alter the brain's chemistry, depleting it of the "feel good" neural transmitters of serotonin and dopamine.  

But there are ways to retrain your brain and break those thought habits.  On this episode we will discuss the six ways to attack those ANTS.
