As our study of Second Samuel nears its conclusion here on Abounding Grace, we find Sheeba leading a great rebellion against David, and he sought to bring a division among God’s people. Though this was no doubt disheartening for David, he was faithful to God’s call, and persevered through this trial. Today we join pastor Ed Taylor in Second Samuel chapter 20, and learn not only the terrible price to be paid for those that choose to rebel, but also how to respond when jealousy, selfishness, and pride drives your attackers.
