Watch With You

Hey Watchers!

The homies Mo_Rease and Madame Lazet help us launch the Ebonauts Book Club by discussing Tia Williams's "The Perfect Find." In this episode, we discuss the book and Netflix movie together. Did we love? Did we dislike? Were we here so that we don't get fined? Listen to find out. Warming: This episode contains spoilers for both the book and movie.

Fan favorite, Carefree Black Nerd, could not make our panel discussion and Lady H would not let him off of the hook. What follows is an in-depth discussion of Tia Williams's The Perfect Find book review, and then we discuss the Netflix adaptation featuring Gabrielle Union. This episode is meant to complement the panel discussion where we review the book and movie together. Enjoy!

Hosts: Lady H and Carefreeblerd

Queen Melmendhi joined Lady H to gush all about The Little Mermaid. We encountered some technical difficulties, and veered off topic a little bit, but that's what happens when queens talk! Also, stay tuned for a hidden track from Semi.

Right in time for the digital release of Disney's The Little Mermaid, we don't just go under the sea, we wade in the water with the ladies of Books.bubbles. We discuss how Halle Bailey's Ariel is not the first time that Black people have occupied the sea and water ways. We also shout out merwomanist Dr. Jalondra A. Davis, Zandile Ndhlovu, Simone Manuel, Mami Wata, and more. We also announced that our Fall 2023 pick for the Ebonauts Book Club is a duology by Natasha Bowen: Skin of the Sea and Soul of the Deep. And if you want more mermaids, be sure to have your pencil and paper handy: the ladies of books.bubbles give you a great list. One more thing: be sure to listen to the end for a voice note from the brilliant KP.

Greetings and Salutations!

Our holiday at Sanditon has come to a close. As we sendoff this Austenian reimagining, we give a final verdict of the show, discuss the connecting themes this season shared with Queen Charlotte (beware we spoil Queen Charlotte), and debate whether or not our girl Georgianna got the ending she deserved.

We join our broadcast in progress as Lady H, Semi, and Mrs. Uliano transitioned from talking about Black Hospital to The Bloodline, end of title reigns for Jade and Binky, and more. Jump in!

Hey Watchers!

One thing that the family at Watch With You prides ourself on is the ability to watch and discuss media that uplifts Black women, femmes, and nonbinary people with you. With the popularity of #Sprina as a catalyst, we check into the classic soap opera, #GeneralHospital for their Black Hospital hours. In this episode, soap opera watchers Lady H, Miss Semi and Mrs. Uliano, catch you up on the Black residents of Port Charles and the glory that is Sprina: that's right, we answer the question #WhoisSprina and get all up in her mama's business. We hope this episode helps you jump into General Hospital, and that you watch during the summer with us.
