We are living in an age of great rebellion against the Creator. Things are being done and said today that have never been done and said before. The rebellion has reached an extreme stage and God's judgement is already upon us. Unless we turn back from our rebellion against our God, this nation will not survive.

One of the greatest needs of our nation today is a national spiritual revival. Today, we are far from God as a nation. We are under His judgment and we need to repent. Yet, we have faith that God will send revival to bring this nation to its knees and restore it to what it once was. Let us pray to that end.

King Cyrus prepared the way for the worldwide proclamation of the gospel. God has His plan and He is carrying it out. Jesus came just as the prophets said He would. He came to His temple and filled it with His glory, the temple that Cyrus gave orders to build. God has worked throughout history to carry out His plan and He is still working today. The gospel us going out to the nations just as Isaiah prophesied so long ago.

Cyrus was a great Gentile King in world history. He is not only mentioned here in the Bible but in secular history as well. God used this great king to carry out the deliverance of his people. Today, we have a King who is greater than Cyrus, Jesus Christ. He is also the Anointed One. He also delivers His people with salvation. Cyrus was His forerunner. He went forth as a conqueror and as a deliverer.

Today, we are playing with fire. We are committing sins that God has clearly condemned. History shows that nations who committed such sins were destroyed. Judgement came on them and it will come on us if we do not repent. We are playing with fire in condoning sins that God calls an abomination. We may get away with it for a while but not forever. Judgement will come and this land will vomit us out if we do not repent.

Isaiah predicts the great expansion of the church. Zion would not stay in captivity. Her descendants would spread through the whole world and the whole world will acknowledge her God.

The Psalmist sees the church in its glory not just as a place for the Jews only but as a place for people from many nations. This was God's plan to bring into being a glorious church made up of people from all over the world. In this sermon we want to look at that church and see its glory. Psalm 87

A great victory was won at the cross. Jesus went to the cross for a great purpose. He went to the cross that you might live. He went to the cross that your sins might be forgiven. He went to the cross that you might be made right with God. Have you come to Jesus with your sins? Have you come to the foot of the cross and accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for your own sins? You must come to Him if you are to be saved. Only in Christ and what He did on the cross can you have salvation and eternal life.

God's people would not cease to be. On the contrary they would continue and endure and multiply. Israel as a people and a nation would endure as long as the sun and moon. God would never cast them off forever.
