- #6: Read the patch notes, you animals!Blizzard has finally unleashed a competitive mode on the Overwatch community, but since SOME PEOPLE don't read the patch notes the experience wasn't very pleasant at first. Blizzard is taking steps to fix that while also taking steps to improve netcode overall. A video detailing Overwatch's netcode and how it works was released, and provides great insight on what we've been experiencing and what we can expect in the furture. We'll discuss that in this episode as well as recent patch notes, invisible Solider 76, Symmetra turrets on balls, and guilds vs clans.

Jeff Kaplan sets the record straight for people complaining about premade groups being their primary reason for losing. Jeff Kaplan also gets involved when a user complains about a specific Tracer pose, and as you can imagine, people are pissed with the outcome. Besides that two big patches were applied over the past two weeks that made some improvements to the game including the interface, highlights, and a weekly brawl mode. Some of the changes, however, make us wonder if they really like Zenyatta at all. Check out this episode of WPR for the details.

A new control map was introduced, as well as some major changes to some popular characters. Blizzard seems intent on making Mei stronger, but Jarret doesn’t think she needs it. Even though he wasn’t in the patch notes, we talk about some changes we’d like to see from Reinhardt. Additionally, we talk about netcode and how lag compensation is becoming a big issue, and discuss if Hero Stacking is a good or bad thing.

Luckily for us, Beta came back just in time, and with a bunch of changes.In this episode talk about the new progression system – how it works, what kind of rewards, and how deeply you can customize your character. Blizzard has revealed how they plan to monetize the game (after the initial $40-$60 of course), so we discuss how we think that will impact the game as well as try to predict the exchange rate for RL money to OW currency. We go through the LONG list of character balance updates, as well as a few general changes as well. Most character balances feel right, while some don’t sit too well with Jarret and Jason. Additionally, Blizzard has made some changes to the UI, added in some config options players have been asking for, and added a brand new career menu so you can bask in your own glory.
