Campeão brasileiro de canoagem oceânica e um dos grandes responsáveis pela pouplariazação do surfski em Salvador (BA), Bruno Machado deu início a um movimento nacional para promover o poder da oração entre remadores, independente de credo ou religião.
Com sua iniciativa, Bruno quer mobilizar praticantes de esportes náuticos de todo Brasil para se unirem e juntos promoverem orações seguindo o calendário lunar.
O planeta está em crise, e uma ação que busca prazer mais positividade é mais do que bem-vinda. É necessária.
Nesta edição do Watercast, Bruno explica para Luciano Meneghello como irá funcionar o movimento, fazendo um convite a toda comunidade dos esportes de água, além de contar um pouco da história do surfski em Salvador.
Competidor a elite do va’a nacional, o capixaba Pedro Weichert assumiu desde 2019 a missão de gerir um clube de canoa polinésia, o Maui Va’a, ao lado de seu amigo e mestre, Sebastian Cuattrin.
Enquanto se recupera de uma lesão relativamente séria em seu bíceps, Pedro Weichert conversa com Luciano Meneghello sobre sua recuperação, a rotina de atleta e a nova fase como dono de clube de va'a.
Pedrinho também fala sobre sua vivência no Havaí, onde competiu e remou ao lado de grandes nomes da canoa havaiana.

Em um momento em que o va'a explode em popularidade, um número de ocorrências no mar envolvendo canoas preocupa.
Para falar sobre esse assunto, Alexey Bevilacqua, um dos pioneiros do va'a no Brasil, é o convidado desta edição do WaterCast para dar sua opinião sobre o que está acontecendo e relata sua experiência, no Brasil e no Havaí, recordando momentos delicados na água provocados em grande parte por erros que poderiam ter sido evitados, além de um naufrágio que por muito pouco não teve consequências mais graves.
Pouca gente se deu conta, mas há exatos dez anos, nesse mesmo mês de abril, o circuito brasileiro de SUP race dava o pontapé inicial em sua história com uma etapa realizada na cidade de Ozório, no Rio Grande do Sul.
Nos anos seguintes, o circuito teve uma ascensão meteórica, oferendo altas premiações em dinheiro e provas realizadas em estruturas imponentes, mas, no entanto, após seu apogeu, entrou em fase de estagnação agravada pela crise gerada pela pandemia de Covid-19.
Temos, sim, muito o que comemorar nesses dez anos, mas, também temos pela frente a missão de reerguer o SUP race brasileiro.
E para falar sobre isso, nada melhor do que o maior nome da história do circuito brasileiro, o pentacampeão profissional Luiz Guida "Animal", que a convite de Luciano Meneghello, relembra momentos históricos do circuito nesses dez anos, fala sobre a rotina de atleta, e apresenta seu ponto de vista para que o esporte volte a crescer após a crise.
Fundando em 2000 em Salvador (BA), o Remo sem Fronteiras incentiva a transformação social de crianças e jovens de baixa renda e PcD através da prática do esporte, em especial a natação e esportes à remo.
Neste WaterCast, Sérgio Oliveira, um dos fundadores do Remo sem Fronteiras fala sobre o poder transformador do esporte enquanto relembra a história de um projeto que mudou a vida de centenas de pessoas e causou grande impacto no cenário do SUP Race nacional.
Manuel Gil Rey Rojo, ou, simplesmente, Gil, participa ativamente da história institucional da canoagem polinésia no Brasil desde o início do circuito brasileiro de va'a, quando o esporte estava sob a tutela da Confederação Brasileira de Canoagem - CBCa.
Ex-supervisor supervisor do Comitê de Canoagem Oceânica da entidade, Gil acompanhou de perto os primeiros passos da institucionalização do esporte por aqui, quando Everdan Riesco e, em seguida, Nicolas Bourlon deram os primeiros passos na criação de um circuito brasileiro até que Gil recebeu a missão de assumir o posto de supervisor nacional do Comitê de va'a da CBCa.
Neste Watercast, Gil fala sobre os bastidores das primeiras competições oficiais no Brasil, saída da canoagem polinésia da CBCa e a criação da CBVA'A, além de comentar sobre as mudanças que estão sendo implementadas pela nova gestão, com a qual colabora ativamente.
