Water problem in Makhanda Municipality hits alarming proportions

Residents of Makhanda in the Eastern Cape say the water crisis in the university town, formerly known as Grahamstown, is getting worse by the day. Water levels at the West side of town where Rhodes University gets its water has dropped to a mere 12 percent. The opposite East side, which includes the vast majority of the population in the area are reporting having dry taps for as long as a week.
