Tucker Legerski is a writer who traveled with Jay nearly a decade ago with a study abroad program from the University of Virginia called Semester at Sea. The two hit it off and became travel buddies throughout the trip and now Tucker joins WTP to share some fond memories, talk about his upcoming book and BS about current events, working with the Peace Corp in Mongolia, traveling, great reads and his journey to obtain a graduate degree. Tucker is currently working on a book that follows his mothers fight with Type 1 diabetes and has been uncovering newfound stories and information about this fight since his mother's passing. Tucker currently resides in Tuscaloosa Alabama and attends the University of Alabama following his creative writing degree after living in New York for a couple years. Not many can understand justice and political organization like someone who lived it their whole life and then taught what they experienced to thousands of college students. Dr. Robert Stanley Oden, or Stan, left college in Northern California to San Diego to lead a team who sifted through complaints of the police department and suggested remedies to help address them, bridging relationships in the colored communities and local PDs.During his college days at UC Davis Stan was a local organizer for minority groups and eventually found himself as a member of the Black Panther Party. Dr. Oden talks about misconceptions of the the Black Panthers and compares the movement of the late 60's to the current Black Lives Matter movement.
