Have you ever been somewhere and notice yellow caution tape or signs saying “keep out”? As we continue in Proverbs, we’ll look at Proverbs 6. There Solomon essentially raises some red flags about foolish behaviors to avoid. It’s wisdom that’s often neglected, but so needed today. Come and join us as we continue to orient our lives toward Jesus.

Have you ever had a parent or grandparent pull you aside and offer you some profound wisdom? They want your undivided attention because they know what they are passing on is of such value. This week in the Proverbs we enter into a scene like that. We’re invited to take the humble posture of a child and learn from a wise parent. The wisdom to be passed on if woven into our lives provides the recipe for living life to the fullest.

What is one of the scariest moments of your life? This Sunday we will study one of the most dangerous relationships that we all face. Often times, we minimize this danger in our minds. However, Solomon pours out tidbit after tidbit of wisdom regarding this topic: How do you deal with a fool. This is important and often unaddressed. Yet, we all interact with fools. Come this Sunday for some very practical wisdom from Proverbs.

This week sets the tone for the whole series. In a sense we will take a combination lock, spin the dials, to look inside the treasure chest of wisdom found in this book. We’ll see the key to thriving, living a fulfilled life, and true satisfaction. If we heed the wisdom of this book, we end up with a life that everyone is after.

After about 6 months’ worth of study we’re coming to the end of Colossians. 6 months is a significant investment of time. I pray this letter has encouraged you that Jesus is the center of everything and increasingly He’s the center of your life. We’ll wrap up this letter in a way that I hope hits home for all of us in a special way.

How many times have you given someone last minute reminders? You’re communicating the stuff you don’t want forgotten and what you want to see acted upon. Near the end of Paul’s letter to the Colossian church he gives the church three primary actions not to forget. These actions should encompass all of life.

Work is a significant part of most of our days. Whether you have a paid job or not, we spend so much time working. This is all part of God’s design; He’s created us to work. So, it’s no surprise that the power of the gospel affects our work to it’s core. This week we’ll explore how being in the family of God affects our work. Whether you are in authority or under authority this passage is wakeup call for us all.  

When you’re young, sometimes the idea of getting married and having kids sounds like the perfect outcome. However, once you’re married you soon realize there is no perfect marriage. And if you’re a parent you understand you are not a perfect there either, nor are your kids perfect. The family dynamic is both wonderful and difficult. This Sunday, we’ll jump back into Colossians and explore the beauty of family the way God designed it.

This Sunday we celebrate His resurrection and be reminded that because He lives all are given access to an everlasting, abundant life.

We live in a confusing world, don’t we? The other month a friend showed me a video on his phone of his wedding day. It was a beautiful video. It seemed to capture the joy and love of the day. Just one problem – it wasn’t real. It was A.I. generated. Truth seems increasingly difficult to discern. But, what if truth isn’t so much a question of what but who?
