As believers, what we were in Adam we no longer are, yet still have. We have a new identity in Christ. This chapter focuses on eight biblical truths that ascertain our new identity in Christ.

We can never truly understand God's grace until we understand our need for His grace. Here we will ask and seek to answer the following questions: "What were we 'in Adam?' What are we 'in Christ?' What impact does this old Adamic nature have in the life of a believer?"

The purpose of this chapter is to establish the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is not an appendage to the Christian life, but the very essence of the Christian life. It is this truth we wish to examine and establish as a primary.

This chapter is an introduction to the concept of "grace." Where once sin and death reigned, now grace reigns (Rom. 5:20, 21). There is no area of life that can escape or be excluded from God's reign of grace over His people.

Understanding grace is essential to understanding the implications that the cross has on every aspect of the Christian life. We cannot sanctify ourselves anymore than we can justify ourselves. It is all by grace.

Because of our position and identity in Christ, His victory is our victory! We do not need to strive for victory. It is already ours. Learn to live in light of this truth.
