The Crushboys would like to take this time to speak out against racism, fascism, and injustice. This podcast was taped a couple weeks ago and is lacking the urgency that is required for our present times. If you are reading this, please do all you can to make sure that the plight of all people of color is echoed throughout America. As black citizens in America, we know all too well the consequences of being who we are in such a blatantly racist country. For everyone that is going through all of the emotions following these inhuman acts from our government and police force; know that we stand by you, we appreciate you, and will not stop until we see an end to this mindless violence against the American people by our fascist regime. We stand united..

People are afraid. Do not let fear control your life. George Floyd should be alive today. Ahmaud Arbery should be alive today. Breonna Taylor should be alive today and so, so many others. We are hurt, incapable of processing all of it right now. If you can physically film someone being MURDERED on camera, you should be helping them survive. Do not be afraid of police. Do not be afraid of racists. What if it were your loved one, slowly dying with a knee in their neck begging for their life. Do something. Our condolences to everyone,  we are beyond sorry... we are done being afraid.

This week's episode we talked about the process of writing one of our songs, "Consolation Prize", and how that feeling of placing second to someone else can also bleed into our respected careers. Things like imposter syndrome and luck vs. talent, could have us thinking that we don't deserve to be in the rooms we find ourselves in. We share our personal experiences, as well as. the creatives we look up to. What if we were just a fly on the wall? What would we have seen and heard? 

Do you remember where you were during the first week of the mandated self quarantining? Do you remember how naive and uneducated we were about the covid virus? Oh us? We were just doing a podcast and living in ignorant bliss. This week we go back to a time where the most we had to worry about during this corona mess was being inconvenienced with long lines at the stores and the thought of wiping our asses with the ads section of our newspaper. Journey back with us as we talk about: The NBA, entrepreneurship, tips on writing music, the long list of netflix shows we've since binged through, and more. With this being our longest pod yet, its hard to ignore the foreshadowing as we all have surely lost count of the weeks we've been locked away in our homes, staring holes into the walls, and hoping that we have at least one week of a summer left. Well... can't say much for the summer but.. here's this weeks episode :) 

Sidenote: With the confirmed cases of covid reaching over 2 million, we would like to urge everyone to continue to stay home and stay safe. This pod pokes fun at the initial panic, but we want our audience to remain safe and educated... don't be like Florida.
