Episode 14, Funky AF, begins with Christopher and Lance catching up talking about the scorching Phoenix heat, Christopher creepin’ on people, how dope Apple TV screensavers are, Christopher’s love for Unsolved Mysteries, and Christopher’s weird run-in with his neighbor. The besties jump into discussing new music including a new record from Pelican, Lights Out Asia, Girl Band, As Cities Burn, Froth, and Futuropaco. Lance flex’s his vamping skills while Christopher attempts to go off the cuff to play music by Zechs Marquise. Lance then has to break to get coffee away from his dog, Sigur Rós. They resume regularly scheduled programming with new music from King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Expiration of a Young Man (sent in from a #wavesofsoundpod Twitter follower), and end episode 14 featuring the song “It’s Really Nice Weather Down Here” by Feed Me to the Waves.

Christopher and Lance have their first guest, Billy Barker, on the show! Billy is a close friend and co-worker. The three talk Billy's history as a DJ, Glogs, creativity and Minecraft, 90s music and IRC - the Napster before Napster. The guys also spoke about Ghostface Killah, the importance of Eminem, Shaq as a rapper, and more rap. Other genres came up, but it was mainly rap and hip hop, so Lance was lost most of the time.

It’s the end of year episode, which means only one thing - top 10 album releases of 2018. Or in Christopher’s case…a top five list with five honorable mentions. The guys also celebrate their birthdays only being days apart. Lance’s top 10 includes God Is an Astronaut, Between the Buried and Me, Thrice, and mewithoutYou. Christopher’s top five includes Daughters, Thou, and Cut Worms.
