Hailing from Puerto Rico, Rabellion aka Tatiana Lamela-Rabell, shares how her love of music started from an early age. She was a natural poet and writer early on. It was when she heard Silvio Rodriguez’s music that she was inspired to become a musician too.

Initially called to be a drummer, she has enjoyed a fascinating artistic evolution throughout the years. She now plays several instruments, sings, produces and DJs too. Her film degree and her love of film affects her musical output in that her live sets can be described as, “cinematic musical journeys.”

Being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia led Rabellion to question much, including her L.A. lifestyle and musical goals. Her desire to heal also inspired her interest in alternative modalities like plant medicine ceremonies and contextualized music as not just entertainment but as Sound Healing. She has lived in many places including United States, Spain, and Perú, and her love of various cultures can be heard in her dynamic sound. She is currently on a global tour, sharing her music with many Ecstatic Dance communities, events and festivals. Tour dates found at her website below.

Inspiration from this chat came from a collaboration by Rabellion and Fllow on medicine-pop song, “Met Before.” Both artists will also be playing music at TRANSCENDENCE, an upcoming festival in Playa del Carmen, MX December 8-10.

“Be true to the creative spark or the voice inside that wants to be let out! That is success with music.”

On Waves Episode 2 we welcome the world-traveling Music Producer, DJ and Sound Engineer, Nolan Watt aka KOMPASS. We track his musical beginnings in Santa Cruz, his gymnastics background, his days playing guitar and bass in rock/jazz/metal inspired bands and the film scoring degree he received at the Berkeley College of Music in Boston.

The Kompass brand of music began in 2018 and incorporates Bass Music, Downtempo, World Rhythms and real Instruments. Some describe his music as, “Temple Bass,” because his exquisitely crafted productions create not just melodies but immersive environments. Inspirience it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed 🔊

Inspiration for this chat came from the several tracks Kompass and I (Fllow) have collaborated on. Sudakra, Kompass and myself have an upcoming Eastern Wind remix in the works. Stay tuned!
