Julius Malema's motion of no confidence in Thoko Didiza — over her refusal to oppose Ramaphosa's interdict of the Phala Phala impeachment process — went down 282 to 101, with the GNU bloc, ActionSA and BOSA all voting to keep her. The DA said she made mistakes. They voted for her anyway.

At the Madlanga Commission, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala spent four days saying almost nothing — and the documents said it for him. WhatsApps, proof of payments, a R4 million trail, and a line drawn straight from tender tycoon Hangwani Maumela to the late taxi boss Jothan "King Mswazi" Msibi, alleged head of the Big Five cartel. Self-incrimination can only cover so much.

The ANC decided councillors should have matric. Then the lists came in. Kgalema Motlanthe's electoral committee rejected every waiver request, then handed out a pledge form instead — get your Grade 12 within a year or lose the seat. Two NEC meetings in 48 hours, an IEC deadline closing in, and Fikile Mbalula on TV saying no matric isn't a dealbreaker anyway. Which is it?

Gayton McKenzie wants his R30 million back from SAFA. No VAR, no explanation, no Danny Jordaan in the room. But Parliament had questions for the Minister too — starting with the R30.9 million spent flying 151 people to the World Cup.
