  • Don't Let This Happen
Welcome to today's #WednesdayWisdom from Way Of The Renaissance Man Starring Jim Woods Today's insight was inspired by English-born American political activist, philosopher, and revolutionary, Thomas Paine. "A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right." –Thomas Paine There's a lot of change going on in Washington these days, and some of it is downright frightening to freedom-loving citizens like me. I think we all need to remember the great Thomas Paine's thoughts in the above quote, because if we get used to more and more infringements on our pocketbooks, the politicos of both stripes are going to continue thinking everything's okay. Remember, not thinking a thing wrong gives it the appearance of being right, so let's not let this happen on our watch. • I Know What I Want…
I Know What I Want… Welcome to today's #WednesdayWisdom from Way Of The Renaissance Man Starring Jim Woods Today's insight was inspired by the iconic English heavy metal band and 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee, Iron Maiden. know what I want I say what I want And no one can take it away –Iron Maiden, "Journeyman" When you think of all of the brilliant statements of resolve that have come out of England, you tend to think they've come from great leaders such as Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher. But today, I've uncovered this pearl of wisdom from an unlikely source, English rock musicians Iron Maiden. The lyrics to their song "Journeyman" are indeed words to live by, and I think more people should strive to know what they want and say what they want. Because in the end, knowing ourselves and making ourselves known to others is really all any of us have. • Wisdom from a Racing Legend
Welcome to today's #WednesdayWisdom from Way Of The Renaissance Man Starring Jim Woods Today's insight was inspired by three-time open-wheel racing champion and Indy 500 winner, Bobby Rahal. "In racing, I wanted to be a winner and to be a winner you have to be willing to roll the dice." –Bobby Rahal The auto racing legend gives us advice that's pertinent not just on the track, but to just about anything you do in life. If you want to be a winner, you simply have to tempt fate and you have to take chances. Yes, you could lose, but you'll never succeed unless you try. • Disraeli Hates Mediocrity
Disraeli Hates Mediocrity Welcome to today's #WednesdayWisdom from Way Of The Renaissance Man Starring Jim Woods Today's insight was inspired by novelist and United Kingdom's twice prime minister, Benjamin Disraeli. "Mediocrity can talk, but it is for genius to observe." –Benjamin Disraeli The great British statesmen and writer had a disdain for all things mediocre, and especially for those who talked too much without first taking the time to know. In this quote, Disraeli reminds us that before we say anything, it's probably best to do as genius does and take the time to observe first.
