At Waymaker.Church, 2021 is the year of Renewal. In Matthew 19:28, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."
No matter how we spin it, our culture, religion and politics are man made and sin based, which naturally leads to discontent and decay. However, God is in the business of renewal! Listen to Week 1 of our Renewal series as Pastor Jon speaks about the concept of Holy Discontent and what that means as we prepare for renewal to come!
In this series, we are walking through the prophecy of Isaiah 9 that foretells the coming of the Messiah, Jesus. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace are the names that described who this coming Messiah would be to His people both then and now.
In Week 3 of Hope is Here, Pastor Jon talks about how God is our Eternal Father. When we don’t know how God approaches us, we don’t know our placement, purpose, or destiny in life. Tune in to this week's message to learn more about what it looks like to see God as our Eternal Father.
In Week 2 of our Hope is Here series, Nathan Cantu brings the word and talks about the title “Mighty God”, which was given to the promised Messiah in Isaiah 9:6. God is the only entity that can overcome death, but the world offers plenty of distractions to keep us from realizing this truth. Listen to this weeks teaching to learn more!
This final series of the year brings us into the Christmas season. As we approach the concluding of 2020 it can be tempting to want to rush past this Christmas season and enter a new year. But what if God is calling us to pause in this season and reflect on His faithfulness this year and declare His faithfulness for the year to come? In this series, we will reflect on the character traits of Jesus and how they remain constant throughout the ages. Take a few minutes to hear from Tanner Petty as he begins Week 1 with speaking about how God is our Wonderful Counselor.
You don't need to be a father to listen to this message. Whether you are single, married without kids, or if you have multiple children, this message is for you.
Listen to the last week of our Building Us series as Pastor Jon talks about the idea of fatherhood and how every father needs to be re-envisioned of his God-given purpose to lead generational blessing through his family.
Every Christian family should have some regular time to meet where the main purpose is spiritual growth. Instead of letting our calendar be dictated by the reactions and demands of the culture, we must lead our families to spend time in Bible study, prayer and serving our church and community.
Ultimately, we cannot force our children to believe and follow Jesus, but we can make family time in spiritual growth a nonnegotiable. Listen to this week's sermon as Pastor Jon and Tammy speak about this idea and talk about their personal experiences!
God’s ideal building block for the individual and the Church is the nuclear family, a husband and wife who build up their children to be Spirit-led, Jesus-following adults in the covering of both an extended family and a spiritual family. Throughout history, this has never been easy, but it is especially daunting in our current age. The family seems broken, toxic and directionless to so many.
This series will describe God’s vision for the family and how Waymaker.Church will lead the way in building families in and through this vision.
This past Sunday, we were able to host special guest, Davey Blackburn! In his message, Davey shares the trauma that he went through and how God carried him through his valley. His organization, Nothing is Wasted, and the heartbeat behind his message exists to help people navigate their trials, tragedies, and transitions and find purpose in their pain.
As we conclude This Side Up, Pastor Jon tackles the topic of politics as we are currently living in a tense political climate. How should we view politics as citizens of the Kingdom of God? As followers of Jesus, what should we point political and religious topics to? Listen to this week's sermon to find out more.
In our third week of our This Side Up series, Pastor Jon Dupin talks about the controversial topic of money. Can our character be defined by how we handle earthly resources? As a matter of fact, how we handle earthly resources influences our trust in God and God's trust in us.
