Crowds, influence, and religious knowledge can create a convincing image—but Jesus looks for something deeper: a genuinely changed heart.
In this Wayman Wednesday message from John 9:35–41, we examine the difference between appearing religious and truly knowing Jesus Christ.
The Pharisees possessed recognition, structure, and knowledge, yet their pride kept them from recognizing the work of God directly in front of them.
This sermon challenges us to look beyond numbers, reputation, and outward success and confront the question Jesus asked the man whose sight had been restored: “Do you believe on the Son of God?”
You’ll discover:
• Why popularity is not proof of spiritual truth
• How expectations can prevent us from recognizing God
• Why religious knowledge cannot replace a personal encounter with Christ
• The true evidence of a changed heart and life
• What it means to possess eternal life through the Son of God
Key Scriptures: John 9:35–41, Romans 12:1–2, Isaiah 7:14, Micah 5:2, Matthew 16:13–18, John 3:1–3, 1 John 5:10–13, and Matthew 7:21–23.
What matters most isn’t the image we present—it’s whether our lives have truly been changed by Jesus Christ.

Can you really know that you’re saved?
Pastor Wayman Mitchell preaches from Ephesians 1 on the assurance of salvation and one of the most encouraging truths in Scripture: God is committed to finishing what He started in you.
New converts and longtime Christians alike can struggle with condemnation. Old habits surface. Wrong thoughts return. The devil accuses you and tells you, “You haven’t really changed. You’ll always be this way.”
But God says something different.
In this message, Pastor Mitchell explains what it means to be redeemed by the blood of Jesus, accepted in Christ, and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
That seal is more than a religious idea. It speaks of ownership. God has put His mark on those who belong to Him.
Philippians 1:6 says:
“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Your confidence is not that you are strong enough to save yourself. Your confidence is in the God who saved you and is working to bring His purposes to completion.

Many Christians attend church. Far fewer become disciples.
In this classic sermon, Pastor Wayman Mitchell opens 1 Corinthians 12 to show God’s design for a productive church. Every believer has a place. Every ministry matters. Every act of service contributes to the mission of reaching souls.
Rather than building celebrity Christians, God is building a body where each member supplies what the others need. Whether your role is visible or behind the scenes, your faithfulness has eternal significance.

One of the most powerful and foundational sermons ever preached by Pastor Wayman Mitchell.
Preached during the 1978 conference, this message captures the raw vision, urgency, and evangelistic conviction that helped ignite a worldwide church planting movement.
Pastor Mitchell confronts:
• Easy believism
• Passive Christianity
• The abandonment of personal evangelism
• A church culture focused on survival instead of revival
This sermon is packed with unforgettable lines, old-school Holy Ghost conviction, and a burning challenge to reach the world before time runs out.
Key themes:
“If you’re going to have revival, you cannot build a fortress for survival.”
Originally preached in 1978. Still cuts like a knife today.

What happens when you start thinking about the end of your life?
In this powerful sermon, Pastor Wayman Mitchell breaks down Proverbs 28:1 and exposes the real reason people fear the future. It’s not politics. It’s not circumstances. It’s guilt, sin, and a lack of righteousness.
You’ll learn:
Why anxiety about the future is rising How guilt quietly destroys confidence
The only way to properly deal with sin
Why some people run… and others stand bold like a lion
How repentance brings God into your situation
This message cuts through the noise and gets straight to the heart: if you’re right with God, you don’t have to fear anything.

There’s something in you that wants control.
The Bible calls it the flesh. This sermon calls it something even more blunt… an animal.
In Exodus 21, God uses a shocking image to reveal a deeper truth about human nature. If what’s inside you is left unchecked, it doesn’t stay small. It grows. It harms. It destroys.
This message exposes:
• Why sin never stays contained
• The internal battle every believer faces
• The danger of ignoring known weaknesses
• Why guilt cannot be buried, only atoned for
• The only solution God provides
This is not a comfortable sermon. It’s a necessary one.

There is massive confusion today about the church.
Some say, “I love Jesus but hate the church.” Others reduce it to a building, a denomination, or a social club.
But Jesus said something bold:
“I will build My church.”
In this message, we examine what the church actually is according to Scripture. Not opinion. Not tradition. Not branding. The biblical ecclesia.
You will discover:
• Why the church is a spiritual society
• What Peter’s confession really established
• Why the church is self-propagating
• How truth is made visible through believers
• Why the gates of hell cannot prevail against it
• Real-life testimonies of deliverance and healing
This is not about defending institutions. It is about understanding what Jesus Himself is building in this generation.
If the church is misunderstood, everything else becomes blurry.
If it is understood, everything sharpens.

In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul uses the image of athletes training for a crown that fades. He contrasts that with an eternal reward that does not perish. This message tackles the honest question many believers ask but rarely say out loud: What’s in this for me?
This sermon clarifies:
Christianity is not self-punishment.
It is not religious effort to reach God. It is God reaching man through the cross. But Scripture is clear: how we live still matters. Run to win. Discipline your life. There is a crown that does not rot.
