In 1 John 1:1-4, John points us to the Jesus he saw, heard, and knew personally. The same Jesus invites us to know Him today. As we begin our new REAL series, take some time to reflect on what it means to truly know the risen Jesus.

Caleb’s story reminds us that faithfully serving God isn’t just for one season of life. At 85, he was still ready to follow where God led. As long as God gives us work to do, we can use it for His glory. May we keep showing up, trusting Him, and serving faithfully in every season.

Lydia’s story reminds us that our work is about more than earning a living; it’s an opportunity to glorify God. In Acts 16, she used what God had given her - her work, her home, and her resources - to serve others and support His mission. May we be willing to do the same, using whatever is in our hands for His glory.

This week, we’ve been spending time in Daniel 9, seeing Daniel’s heart for God through prayer and repentance. This Sunday, we’ll look at another part of Daniel’s life in Daniel 1:18-20 and 6:1-5. Daniel lived and worked in a culture that didn’t honor God, yet his faith shaped the way he lived, worked, and carried himself.

Nehemiah reminds us that God-honoring work starts with a heart that is surrendered to Him. He prayed, trusted God, and then stepped forward to do what was needed. Whatever work God has placed before us, we’re called to do it faithfully; not for recognition, but for His glory.

Refocus isn’t just about where our attention is; it’s about how we live. Jesus reminds us that greatness in His Kingdom looks like serving others. He didn’t come to be served, but to serve and give His life for us. As we refocus on the Lord Jesus, let’s look for simple ways to put others first and serve as He did.

Refocusing on Jesus means remembering that following Him was never meant to stop with us. In Matthew 4:17-22, Jesus called ordinary people to follow Him and become “fishers of men.” Wherever God has placed us, at home, at work, at school, or in our community, we have a place to disciple. As we follow Jesus, we help others take their next step toward Him too.

It’s easy to let uncertainty about what’s next take over our focus. But in Joshua 1:1-9, God reminds Joshua that he doesn’t have to have every step figured out; he is to stay focused on God and follow where He leads.

This week we begin our new series, Refocus. In Deuteronomy 6:1-9, God reminds His people that spiritual growth isn’t just for Sunday, it also happens in the everyday moments of life. As we love God and keep His Word to speak it and live it out, our faith grows deeper and our impact grows wider. This week, ask the Lord to refocus your heart on Him and commit again to the places He wants to grow you and your family.

As we live for the King’s return, we live with confident hope. Revelation 21 reminds us that the day is coming when Jesus will make all things new, and we will be with Him forever. No more pain, no more tears, only the joy of His presence. Keep your eyes on the King and let the promise of eternity shape the way you live today.
