  • The Woman Angler & Adventurer | Be a Part of the Women in the Outdoors Movement! : EP. 79 Empowering the Next Generation of Anglers with Chastenation!
We were so thankful to get introduced to a young angler by the name of Chasten Whitfield while we were at iCast. Chasten was among the multitude of women in the industry who came out for RBFF's Wave Makers event. We did a short interview with her there and it didn't take long to realize we would need to have her back on the show for a full interview because the things she's doing at such a young age is nothing short of awe-inspiring!
As soon as she turned 18, she got her USCG Captain's License and started her 501C3...both endeavors are a tall order, even for the most gifted individuals. Through fishing and sharing her passion with kids with disabilities, she had an experience that set the course she wants to follow for the rest of her life. You'll hear about it on today's episode.
She has even bigger dreams for the future and we have no doubt she's going to knock it out of the park, Chasten can! Be inspired by her story...and remember, if she can do it YOU can do it!

  • Lunker Dogs Reel Guy show : The End of Happy Bait
The Lunkerdog does not call Happy Bait this year. The term is fairly irrelevant  at this point he explains as the number of fish migrating from north to south  is a fraction from years past.
Most refer to this as the mullet run  Listen and learn what the mullet run was like in the 80s , 90s all the way to now. You might not like what you hear but the truth is not always easy to listen to .

  • Tom Rowland Podcast : The Mental Diet - PHYSICAL FRIDAY #27
In today's Physical Friday episode we talk about diet.  Everyone knows that having a healthy nutritional diet is important to health and fitness.  It is equally important to maintain a vigorous physical diet of exercise and mobility for good health. As we have discussed recently it is also extremely important to pay attention to the sleep diet as well.  There is another diet that is rarely discussed as it pertains to physical health and that is your Mental Diet.
What is a Mental Diet?  Your Mental Diet is everything that you read, watch or listen to.  There are choices to be made on each of these that can result in massive changes in mental and physical health.  Opting for positive influences over negative can mean the difference in success or failure.  Creating and maintaining a diet full of positive books, documentaries, motivational movies, educational podcasts and following uplifting social media accounts over a diet cluttered with political news, reality tv shows, Hollywood gossip, and negative social media can make a difference so huge in someone's life that it is difficult to describe.
It is said that you are the sum of the 5 people that you spend the most time with.  If that is true, which it certainly seems to be, then why would you not also be equally affected by the things you watch, read and listen to?  There is no mystery here.  You are affected by these things greatly.  You also have the choice to choose positive over negative, education over entertainment or reading a good book over mindlessly trolling through negative social media accounts.
I discuss this in today's episode as I have seen dramatic changes in my life by paying attention to these things.  If you are looking for positive books to read, check out my Book Club at https://tomrowlandpodcast.com/book-club and we can read these books together. I'd love to hear what you think of these books and we can communicate through Instagram @tom_rowland or through the dedicated email address for this podcast.  Shoot me your thoughts at [email protected]
