For the hearing impaired here's an audio rendering from google of this week's fowl front podcast review.
Hey, Before we get started here I just want to share with you something that’s been heavy on my heart the last week. My wife and I were forced to move to el paso and ended up there for about 3 years. During that time we came to fall in love with the cutlure, the geography, the people and the environment even the climate. El Paso Texas has its problems as most other cities do, it is NOT a dirty, barren and 3rd world esque town, on the contrary. The people there are warm, open hearted and friendly and they are hurting right now from the cowardly actions of someone not from that community. Show your support for El Paso and, take a visit there and see first hand what I’m talking about, I’ve said it before its a destination duck hunting paradise and if you take me up on this offer you’ll experience and remember El Paso as fondly as I do. Its people’s home not a political chess board and the duck hunting there is world class. Ok thank you.
Welcome back to the Fowl Front’s Hunting Podcasts Review episode… This show has some serious identity issues when it comes to naming conventions and for that… I apologize. Also, this episode is brought to you in part by Rivers West Apparrell, head on over to our website at fowlfront.com and get the promo code for 30% off a new jacket or vest for this season.
Oh, and before I forget Danke furs Zuhoren Freund….I butchered that I’m certain of it but thank you for listening Germany… theres either a couple of dislocated military waterfowl hunters stationed over there that are just rippin through the episodes or germany is getting some waterfowl hunting culture… does germany have a waterfowl hunting culture? Geez... that I don’t know… lemme know! I’ll look into it an report on it next week!
Ok, I’m gonna tell you a story before we get into the podcast rankings about a man that you might be interested in...
-Born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming and receiving his BA and MA degrees in Economics and Political Science from George Washington Univerisity in Washington D.C.
-Served his country honorably as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
-He went on to receive his JD from Wyoming where he was the senior Editor on Land and Water Law Review.
-He Went on to represent ranchers, fossil fuel energy corporations and the good people of the west in cases against the federal government in light of what he oftens often coined as conservation overreach by the federal government.
-He eventually became a Senior Official in President Reagan’s Administration as the Deputy Assitant Secretary for Energy and Minerals of the Department of the Interior.
-President of Mountain States Legal Foundation (Sued the Dept of the Interior on behalf of oil and gas pospectors, sought to undermine protections of endnagered species such as the grizzly bear and supports movements to radically reduce the size of federal lands to make way for development and income at the state level.
-In 2016 he wrote “The founding fathers intended all lands owned by the federal government to be sold” in an article he penned titled “The Federal Government should follow the constituation and sell its western land” long story short… please go read it but long story short the man penning this article blames lackluster economies that are handcuffed by the fact that local and state governments in western states have small amounts of taxable land which reduces income and that the federal government is hoarding and protecting this land way too much and is and slowing the way of progress in industry, economy and development in the name of conservation. Citing the cries of the Ranchers out west who are losing grazing rights on public lands to feed their cattle (that they make money off of and that feeds you and probably fills your very freezer right now).
This Man is William Perry Pendley, the recently appointed acting director of BLM
BLM, bureau of land management which manages over 250 million acres of public land for reference that’s like twice the size of texas or most of the central flyways (ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA and CO combined), and hosts all sorts of outdoor activities to include hunting and fishing is and its all now managed by this man. this coupled with the fact that over ¾’s of the BLM’s Washington DC staff have been relocated to Colorado, and geographically distancing the director from the political rungs in which he normally is supposed to operate… thus allowing him to be closer to the land he manages… this is my issue here… you’re job is to be a voice/person that speaks on the behalf of that land to (no offense frankly people…or politicians who are completely unconnected or misinformed on who the hell actually uses these lands and how important they are to us and our future… disclaimer for the good politicians on both sides of the aisle like and a shoutout to all the wonderful and hard working people in the BLM.
However it is to be Noted and acknowledged and it would be boo on me and other “green thinking folks” who may use this information as scare tactic to duping you into ignorantly supporting their agenda (just happens that we are kind of on the same side on this one) that are demonizing this man and his appointment … Mr. Pendley, BLM Director can’t actually sell off the land he’s entrusted with managing according to the Federal land Policy management Act of 1976 which if he wished to sell it (like he has indicated that he personally does) it would take congressional approval… good thing theres not a 1400 mile geographical buffer between congress and the BLM Head office… oh wait. Looks like crap...smells like crap… I’m hesitant to put it in my mouth… and it’s probably some long game pro fossil fuel, pro privatization bad for public land type of political chess move...crap. Go spend some time with the infrmation and let me know what you think. Hey, I know I can be wrong about stuff and I’m not married to an argument… I’m married to conservation.

Ive been exposed to Remi before and he seems like a very nice human being… but I was skeptical of this…don’t know why. Listened to it…. I don’t know what this is going to be but episode #1 was extremely great… it was an entertaining and capturing story that taught you a valuable lesson in hunting… specifically centered around and important lesson about how you shoot your bow to horizontal distance not line of sight distance…. Its half an hour and its great.
