  • Hooked on Wild Waters : #16: Learn – Interview with Bogdan Korostetskyi, the 1st KBF/FLW Champion!

Dr. Noisewater and I are back from the history making tournament on Nickajack Lake, in Tennessee, where the FLW Tour and Kayak Bass Fishing held the first joint event. While Ken and I may not have finished as well as we’d like (and we get into that), we were able to score an interview with the winner, Bogdan Korostetskyi, and I think you’ll be impressed and surprised by some of what he has to say!

  • Tom Rowland Podcast : HOW 2 TUESDAY #42 - How To Catch Pompano Ft. Capt. Matt Budd

Pompano has exploded in the past few years, the price has skyrocketed, there is a high demand for them. Because of this, I thought I would feature Captain Matt Budd on the podcast to teach us all how to catch pompano. Captain Matt Budd may know as much about pompano fishing as anyone I have ever talked to. This is a guy who is not just doing this recreationally but doing it commercially. When fishing commercially you may learn some things that a recreational angler doesn’t have to learn. Read the full article HERE.

  • The Woman Angler & Adventurer | Be a Part of the Women in the Outdoors Movement! : EP. 58 Becoming an Outdoors Woman

Peggy Ferrell is the director of the Becoming an Outdoor Woman program. BOW started in 1990 after a conference at UWSP to explore how they could get more women involved in hunting and fishing. Founded by Christine Thomas, the conference led to the first BOW workshop and now the program is in 38 states and 6 Canadian provinces.

The program has expanded worldwide, and some options include a photo safari in Africa or trip to Iceland or Costa Rica.  BOW currently offers two three day workshops every year. The format is  1/3 shooting and hunting, 1/3 fishing, and 1/3 other classes such as dog sledding, sewing with fur, kayaking, etc.

Listen in as you hear about the history of the program and what it currently has to offer. Maybe you can find a place to help out this mission, as they are always looking for mentors for the program.  -Barb Carey
